Not For Sale Australia hosted The Abolitionist Backyard Academy, designed to equip participants with skills to contribute to the modern-day abolitionist movement. The Backyard Academy in a snap shot was a 2 and a half day event that was run by the Not For Sale Campaign – during which 4 electives were offered that were primers to their week long Abolitionist Academy counterparts held in San Francisco.Participants  learned how to map and document prosecuted cases of human trafficking, design effective aftercare programs for survivors, and understand the complexities of supply chain transparency and our connection to forced labor through consumerism. The purpose of the Backyard Academy is to engage communities with the Abolitionist movement in their contexts, bridge the gap between knowledge and action and to empower them to fight slavery in their “backyards”.More Info: http://www.nfsacademy.org/backyard-academy
